Prague Is Always A Good Idea!





Prague is always a good idea. We’ve been to Prague before and the feeling is much the same as one feels about Paris. 

The Charles Bridge is one of the loveliest events while there.  I call it an event because artists have their easels set up and are painting, others are making jewelry and selling it, some are playing instruments. One man was playing a trumpet, another a violin and yet another was strumming his guitar and singing. 

There is a statue of John the Baptist pointing at the Prague Castle, and many more statues. There are a lot of tourists taking pictures. The Vitava River is beautiful and flows through the center of Prague.  

The church you see in the pictures, is Our Lady of Prague Church. It’s gorgeous with its gold altar and as you can see, I was getting ready to hear confessions. 

We took the Funicular to the top of the mountain to where the castle is, since we had seen the castle on our last visit, we decided to have a walk around the enormous and beautiful park. It’s like another whole city when you get up there. We even came across the Monastery Beer and Wine Cellars beer garden, we had a beer and met a very nice couple from Chicago.  

The red car you see in the pictures, is in town center and you can rent it and be taken on a tour around Prague. 

On our walk around old town, we came across two young women who were playing the Bassoon, well they weren’t playing, because there was a young man who I think was more infatuated with the girls then the instruments. Since we didn’t get to hear them play, I pulled it up on You Tube and had a listen, it is a beautiful instrument with a nice sound.  

The Astronomical Clock tower is in Old Town Prague and was first installed in 1410. It is the third-oldest astronomical clock in the world and the oldest one still operating.  

Prague is certainly a city worth returning to.

Sydney Australia!

Well I’m happy to report we survived the 15- hour flight to Australia.  We took the short flight from Las Vegas to L.A. and then it was non-stop to Sydney.  We’re traveling with our friends George and Sharon and staying in the Circular Quay area of this beautiful city. It’s just a short walk to the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge.  The Sydney Harbour Bridge, is known by locals as the Coathanger and is considered the world’s greatest arch bridge and one of Australia’s best-known and photographed landmarks. You can drive over it, ride a bicycle, and even walk across.  We walked through the beautiful Royal Botanic Gardens, I think I’ll let the pictures tell the story there, and we took the tour of the Opera House. The Ireland I Know

I am so happy to be talking to you about Ireland. New Zealand! WOW

New Zealand is awesome! Green and lush and populated with lots of friendly people.   We started our nine-day New Zealand trip in Queenstown. While there, we took the Skyline cable car to the top of a mountain and had a wonderful view of the city. The next day we went to Milford Sound, which we highly recommend. At first, we were rather turned off by the fact that it would be a 4 1/2 hour coach ride to get there, but the journey turned out to be almost as magnificent as the destination itself. The driver stopped three or four times for a coffee break and picture taking. The countryside along the way was spectacular. When we arrived at Milford Sound, we boarded a cruise ship for a 2- hour tour through snow-capped mountains and waterfalls. The Hilton Hotel we stayed at was on the beautiful Wakatipu lake and had a very nice bar at the top of the hotel.
