Sydney Australia!

Well I’m happy to report we survived the 15- hour flight to Australia.  We took the short flight from Las Vegas to L.A. and then it was non-stop to Sydney.

We’re traveling with our friends George and Sharon and staying in the Circular Quay area of this beautiful city. It’s just a short walk to the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge.

The Sydney Harbour Bridge, is known by locals as the Coathanger and is considered the world’s greatest arch bridge and one of Australia’s best-known and photographed landmarks. You can drive over it, ride a bicycle, and even walk across.

We walked through the beautiful Royal Botanic Gardens, I think I’ll let the pictures tell the story there, and we took the tour of the Opera House. As we wandered through and sat on the very comfortable seats in one of the theaters, we had to agree that “Seeing it from the outside is only half the story.”

The Opera House is host to not only many operas but plays, symphonies and before he passed away, Prince even performed here. Our tour guide told us that they show films where they take the music out of it, there is no soundtrack, only the dialogue and the sound effects, with a live orchestra playing the sound track throughout the movie. Wouldn’t that be something to see?

This is just our first day, well half day, we did all of the above after landing and waiting for our room to be ready.  We have two more days here in Sydney before going on to the Gold Coast.  I’m not sure yet what we’re up to today but I will be back with lots more.

Until then… have a look.
